They say...

That one toddler can make it seem like you are either in an insane asylum or that you should commit yourself to one... I wonder what it's like to have 3 at the same time? Oh yea, that's right, we do... I'll never say that anything was as hard as it was then when they were babies... Because nothing was harder than that. However, the craziness that happens in our house on a daily basis is hard to believe. There are times I am laughing so hard because of something that the kids do and there are times that I'm crying so hard because they won't settle down for a nap. It's literally like having multiple personalities within a 5 minute span. Tonight alone, I had to stop Bria from pulling on her sisters apron and choking her (while she laughed hysterically), stopped Steve from ripping half of Aven's hair out, stop all of them from taking off their diapers at least 15 times until I finally gave up, had to clean out dried up poop from Bria's crib since she took her poopy diaper off during nap and Andy didn't get it all, had to fish out poop from Aven's butt after she was already in the tub (it took me a good 5 minutes to figure out she had a turd in her crack - notice a theme tonight), save each of them from breaking their necks from jumping off the couch, tackle each of them to the ground to get them into their cribs for bedtime and then soothe each of them to relax and try to get to sleep. And that was only between the times of 6:00 and 7:30 tonight. I'm tired. Lord knows how Andy feels, but luckily he's at one of Declan's many activities tonight and hopefully getting some time to clear his head :-)

Bria had a panic attack when I said we were going to the store on Sunday because she didn't know what to do with all her stickers...

Bria decided to make her own seat at the table...

Girls first time in the big cart at Target - note the nuks, which they are sneaky about... They hide them at night and then during the day they find them in their hiding places and pop them in their mouths - which then makes it near impossible to take away.

Pizza lunch!

Bria kissing - herself?! Ha!

Rain Day!

This morning it was a little gloomy and actually looked it might rain for a few hours so the kids and I let Daddy sleep in while we colored (mostly ourselves) and played with things that Daddy doesn't let us (i.e. small Lego's :)) Stevie and Bria decided to strip down and color themselves - pretty sure it's the first time they have ever colored with markers - and perhaps the last :-) Luckily it was bath night and they were washable markers (for the most part). Aven was actually pretty good with keeping it on the paper - she's generally the neatest of the bunch... Here's some pictures from the day...

Bria is really into her drawing here...

What Mom?

Stevie wasn't feeling the pictures...

Declan humoring me...

I know I've been missing the monthly updates on the girls, but I figured I'd wait until next month when they turn 3! Can you believe they are going to be 3?!?!?!?!?!?!? I know I can't...

Catch Up!

The last few weeks have been a little nuts to say the least and I'm barely unexhausted (I realize that's not a word) enough to even type this... I've had a few solid weeks of traveling for work and have been in 4 countries with a weekend at home in between (France, Germany, Italy and Mexico). I'm glad to be home for the next month or so (for the most part).

We were lucky enough to have my parents drop everything and come in for about 10 days... We needed some extra hands while Andy took the girls in to the local elementary to get assessed for preschool. We've been getting speech therapy for all the girls since we moved down here (and before), but when they turn 3 all that stops... But if they are able to qualify (which we just found out they did), then they will go to preschool at one of the local elementary schools. The best part is that it's FREE and we don't have to search for private speech therapy. So we found out they all qualified, but we don't yet know how often - could be every day for half a day or a few days a week or a few hours... We'll meet with the school in the next few months and prep for them once they start after their birthday. I'm really looking forward to this since the girls (especially Stevie) have done great since we've moved and I think it will be great to give Andy a few hours to himself a week :-) Especially in the last 2 weeks the girls have certainly let the terrible 2's creep in - just in time to turn 3!

Speaking of the terrible 2's, I overestimated my parenting ability when I took all the kids solo to Target and then to another store shoe shopping. It was literally 3 2 year olds screaming at the top of their lungs for about an hour and then at the shoe store they were jumping off and on everything. But I wasn't going to let them defeat me, so we walked out with shoe's in the bag, but no shoes not the feet :-)

Here are a few pictures from the last couple of weeks... The girls after gymnastics a few weeks ago... During this particular session Stevie wouldn't let go of her Minnie Mouses (L to R: Bria, Aven and Stevie)

The girls at the bookstore - note the apron that Aven is wearing... She wore this to dinner as well :-)

Halloween is in full swing in our household and the kids have taken a special liking to the skeletons :-) Except Bria, should can do without them... Here's Aven and Stevie

Declan want's some love too...
