Today Andy took Declan and one of Declan's friends to a movie, so I packed up the girls and went to Target to get a few things. Some people ask how/why do you do this. Honestly, the girls are pretty good shopping (THANK THE LORD I HAVE SOMEONE TO SHOP WITH!) and it's nice to get out and about on the weekend. I put two in the double stroller and strapped one on me. I went through the store and I got the usual comments (i.e. 'oh my god,' 'that has to be awful,' 'lord help that woman,' 'are those triplets?' 'boy do you have your hands full,' and many many stares). I honestly don't really talk to people or respond (like Andy does), because it just holds me up. But note to everyone, don't say this stuff when you see a mom of multiples. All of the comments are in fact true, but why do people need to be reminded of stuff. It's like saying wow the sky is blue. Well of course it is, and telling people all the time is just kind of annoying. By the way, before having triplets, I'm certain that I would have been one of those that said "that has to be awful," now, it's just kinda mean. Because it's not awful all the time :-)
What topped off the shopping trip is what the checker said to me. She looked at them and said "wow, are those triplets?" To which I responded "yes." Then she said "did you know you were having triplets?" By this point, I wanted to say are you f'in serious lady? Why would you say such a dumb thing? But I didn't, in my nicest voice I said "no, I didn't, they just kept coming out and I didn't know when it was going to stop. Luckily I just had 3." She looked a bit shocked, I on the other hand smiled and told her to have a nice day. I mean come on! How would someone not know they were having multiples in today's day in age? That's gotta top the cake of stupid things people have said to me.
On a lighter note, here are a few pictures of the kiddos from the week :-) I took this picture last weekend and honestly it was the funniest thing that I did all week... We were going for a walk and these things work perfect because then we don't have to worry about blankets. What was funny was Bria. You know how when you dress a cat they can't walk or really do anything. Gotta be in the top 10 funniest things to watch. Well that's how Bria was. It was like she didn't know what to do in the outfit and was having a hard time moving and could barely sit up. Declan thought it was pretty funny too :-)
Bria and Aven (L to R) out for a walk today...
Stevie pooped out from the walk today :-)
And shortly after the walk and dinner, Bria and Aven (L to R) were so pooped out they were trying to snuggle on mommies lap... They are getting so big that my lap isn't going to be enough soon for 2 of them... Stevie was snuggling with Daddy.
Also about a week ago, Aven learned how to crawl up the stairs. So now we have a gate going up the stairs, but still let them roam around on the first floor. Once Stevie becomes mobile, we may need to re-think that strategy. Don't pay attention to Aven's outfit here - this is what she came home in that day because she, like her sisters, like to puke on themselves a lot.
